Katanning Saleyards Stormwater Harvesting & Reuse

The new Katanning Regional Saleyards is a state of the art facility. Water harvesting and efficiency is a priority and the facility is self-sufficient in terms of water without the need for an external supply.

To assess the capacity of the site to provide sufficient water for its own needs, and determine the sizing of key infrastructure, a detailed water balance model for the site was developed by Hyd2o.

The developed model was fully interactive enabling the assessment of various scenarios and sensitivity with ease. This approach assisted in the selection of an optimal water supply and stormwater storage configuration reflective of the opportunities, constraints, and design requirements of the site.
