Mahala Forrestdale Urban Water Management

Mahala in Forrestdale is a new masterplanned community being developed by multi-award-winning property developer LWP in conjunction with Department of Communities.

To support planning approvals for the development Hyd2o have undertaken predevelopment monitoring and the preparation of an overarching District Water Management Strategy and Local Water Management Strategy. An Urban Water Management Plan has also recently been prepared and approved to facilitate the initial stage of development.

A key element of the water management for the site is the rehabilitation of the steep sided Bailey Branch Drain in to a living stream and community asset, as well as providing the downstream Anstey Keane damplands with improved environmental outcomes.
