The Yangedi Rd sand mine is located adjacent to the Serpentine Airfield at Hopeland in the Shire of Murray. 

Hyd2o supervised the installation of monitoring bores at the site and undertook groundwater analysis and mapping to inform the setting of the mine floor level.  

A review of the hydrology of nearby wetlands was also performed. This included an assessment of the impact on the wetlands of sand extraction from the site, to ensure the long term protection of their hydrological function.  

Site bores continue to be monitored regularly by Hyd2o for levels and water quality as part of compliance monitoring.
