White Gum Valley Sump Rehabilitation
Development WA’s White Gum Valley project is a multi-award winning infill development project showcasing exceptional sustainability outcomes and environmental performance at the residential subdivision scale
A key component of the development was the transformation of an existing unsightly fenced-off sump scattered with weeds and litter, into an attractive publicly accessible green space, while retaining its original practical drainage function.
To help achieve this outcome Hyd2o were engaged to assess the characteristics and hydrologic performance of the existing sump in order for retrofitting works to be successfully undertaken.
Through a multi-partner collaboration involving government agencies local council, and a range of specialist consultancies, a previously unappealing and inaccessible sump was rejuvenated for improved amenity, urban biodiversity and community benefit.
